New construction is its own beast. The house is done, the driveway is in, and suddenly you're staring at a blank slate with compacted soil, no plantings, and neighbors already watching. Getting the landscaping right from day one matters more than most people realize - and it starts well before a single shrub goes in the ground.

For this Manhasset home, we hand-selected every piece of plant material in person. That's not something every company does, but it's the reason the finished beds look cohesive and intentional rather than thrown together. When you're selecting plants for a brick colonial with this kind of curb appeal, the material has to earn its spot. The wrong shrub in the wrong place sticks out. The right one just looks like it belongs.

The planting bed along the foundation runs the full width of the front facade, edged with a clean stone border that gives the beds a finished, structured look. The mix of evergreen shrubs, spiral topiaries, and a small ornamental tree creates layered depth - something that will only look better as everything fills in over the next few seasons. Fresh black mulch ties it all together and keeps maintenance manageable.

What also stands out here is how efficiently the job came together without any shortcuts. Sod was laid and the irrigation system was already running to get the new lawn established properly. On a new build, that kind of coordination is what separates a job that looks great now from one that actually holds up long-term.
