Custom Landscape Design for a Dream Home

Some homes have the architecture. The stonework, the columns, the grand entrance. But without a landscape that keeps up with it, something always feels off. That's what we were working with here - a stunning home that deserved an outdoor design built to match it, inside and out.

We worked closely with this homeowner to think through every section of the property. The front beds needed structure and layering. The side yards needed privacy without feeling closed off. And the lawn itself needed to be clean, lush, and sharp enough to tie everything together. That kind of full-property thinking is what separates a real landscape design from just planting a few shrubs and calling it a day.

Up front, we built out tiered planting beds along the stone retaining wall - mixing hydrangeas, boxwoods, ornamental trees, and low border plantings to create depth and color at every level. The goal was to complement the home's architecture without competing with it. Clean black mulch throughout keeps the beds looking sharp and ties the whole front together.

Around the side and back, we ran a full line of arborvitae to create a natural privacy screen between the yard and the neighboring property. It works hard - giving the outdoor living space a sense of separation while still looking polished and intentional. That's the kind of detail that makes a landscape feel designed, not just planted.
